As the name of "Meet The Neighbors" suggests, we provide fun activities that make you feel as if you were traveling to various countries and regions. We provide cultural exchanges, language studies and delicious dishes in a safe environment.
It will be more than just an experience that cannot be obtained by just sightseeing in the area.

You can taste authentic homemade dishes from around the world.
This is a very valuable opportunity, and you cannot experience easily unless you have friends in foreign countries.

You can experience the foodstuff, seasonings, music, games, etc. that the locals have been familiar with since they were children.

No worries communication
Hosts from overseas are basically at the JLPT N1 level and they are very fluent Japanese speakers. Or we will provide an interpreter so that you can feel at ease.
In addition, Japanese woman will support communication problems. She has been involved in foreign countries including English-speaking and Chinese-speaking countries for more than 20 years, and has been engaged in international exchange through food for more than 10 years in Hiroshima, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. No worries!
Introducing the host

Emi Matsuoka (Japan)
I’m a licensed cook and a certified care worker. I have worked for about 20 years in Special Homes for the Aged or group homes for the elderly, and I have experience in cooking and long-term care.
Many people around me like my unique menu, and they often say that I have a sharp sense of taste.


Gilbert Cheng (Taiwan)
I was was raised in Taiwan. I am a founder of children's education business.
I like drinking and eating, and I like cooking.
My hobby is making foreign dishes.
Recently, I am studying Taiwanese tea and I am developing tea dishes.
I believe that "everyone will be happy in front of tasty food."


Sung Hwa Kim(Korea)
I was born in Seoul, South Korea.
After working as a guest house staff from Kyushu to Kanto on a working holiday at the age of 20, I entered Prefectural University of Hiroshima in the next year. After graduation, I got a job at a company in Hiroshima.
I teach Korean and I would like to create a place that people in Hiroshima can belong to.
My motto is "Just talk, drink and get along with each other."


Selvaraj Thomasprabhu (India)
I was born in Chennai, Tamil, India. I am currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Hiroshima University.
I often saw the image of hard working Japanese people, robots and bullet trains made in Japan on TV, and I was attached to Japan for a long time. Also, there was a connection between my university in India and Hiroshima University, so I came to Hiroshima.
I like doing sports in general, but I don't have many opportunities to play cricket and Kabaddi in Japan, which I used to play in India.
I also love cooking hospitable dishes and having parties with friends from all over the world.

Ulla Watanuki(Germany)
I was born in Saarland, Germany.
I came to Japan in 2006, and have been teaching German since then.
I was introduced by The Chugoku Shimbun as a German cooking specialist in 2015.



Nuhi(Indonesia)
I was born and raised in Pangkep, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Currently, I am a PhD student at Hiroshima City University.
I love food and traveling with friends.
Also, I like to try various food and dessert recipes to share (if it turns out great).
I love how people smile after eating tasty food.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading manga and novels, listening to music, and watching dramas and anime.
I like to make friends. Let's be friends!


LEE SEUNGHYEON
I was born in South Korea.
I am a PhD student at Hiroshima City University and I would like to find a job in Japan in the future.
I love to get along with people!
I will go anywhere if there are exchange events as I'm a friendly person who loves people.
I like cooking and I sometimes share cooking videos on YouTube.
My goal is to make it easy to interact with various people through Korean culture.
Also I love training and I would like to train with my friends and spend some time together!

Everyone was so kind that I didn't feel like I met them for the first time.
On the way back, Mr. 〇 (another Taiwanese participant) told me about Taiwanese vegetarian food.
